Fair questions, straight answers
Do my screenshots leave my phone? +
No. Ghim reads text from screenshots on your device. The extracted text is sent to the backend and OpenAI so Ghim can identify the place, but the screenshot image itself is not uploaded.
Does Ghim use my location? +
No. Ghim does not request your device location. It uses the place information in your screenshot and Apple Maps search to match the place.
What happens if Ghim finds the wrong place? +
Ghim may save the best match first. If there are other likely matches, you can swap to another one. You can also remove a pin at any time.
Why is my location wrong? +
For the best result, take a screenshot that clearly includes the full address and as little unrelated text or visual noise as possible. A complete, easy-to-read address gives Ghim the best chance of finding the correct location.
Can I add events to my Apple Calendar? +
Yes — any event Ghim saves can be added to Apple Calendar in one tap, with the venue, time, and location already filled in.
Can I delete my data? +
Yes. You can delete individual pins, and you can delete your account from Settings → Account. Account deletion removes your profile and pins.
